The wait is finally over, Hopefuls!
The highly anticipated second season of “When Hope Calls” premieres this weekend on Great American Family.
Inspired by Janette Oke’s novels, the series (set in the early 1900s) is a spinoff of Hallmark Channel’s “When Calls the Heart” and follows the lives of two sisters, Lillian and Grace. Separated in childhood after the death of their parents, the girls reunite as adults and move back to Lillians’ adopted family’s home in Brookfield to start their own orphanage.
Originally premiering in 2019, the fate of the show was unknown for more than a year until Great American Family picked up Season 2, airing a two-part Christmas special in December 2021. Earlier episodes pay homage to the romance of Lillian and Mountie Gabriel, but Season 2 is expected to bring new characters, chemistry and yes, a whole lot of heart.
While Mountie Gabriel is away on assignment, Brookfield welcomes Constable, Mountie Michael Fletcher (Christopher Russell). And as Lillian prepares to leave for London to be by Grace’s side during her pregnancy, San Francisco lawyer Nora Anderson (Cindy Busby) shows up at the orphanage with surprising news.
“When Hope Calls” is now streaming on Great American Pure Flix and premieres this Sunday, April 6 at 8 p.m. EST on Great American Family.
