Steamed, Fried & Deliciously Bite-Sized at Award-Winning Teddy Wongs

Good things come steamed, fried and deliciously bite-sized at Teddy Wongs Dumplings and Wine.

Located in Fort Worth’s Near Southside, this upscale, Chinese eatery was recently crowned Restaurant of the Year at Culturemap’s 2025 Tastemaker Awards and specializes in a variety of handmade dumplings such as pork soup, lobster, chicken and veggie. Other menu items include Peking duck, fried rice, Texas Mongolian beef and an extensive wine, beer and sake list.

Through its unique cuisine and warm hospitality, the restaurant pays homage to Wang Lao Xiong, who traveled from a remote Chinese village to work on a ranch along the Chisholm Trail. Nicknamed “Teddy Wong” by his fellow cowboys, he would often prepare campfire dumplings and dim sum. Blending local Texas ingredients with Chinese spices and cooking methods, Teddy’s culinary skills eventually made him a local legend.

Teddy Wongs is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Reservations are recommended. Patrons can also park for free in the Magnolia Green Garage on Alston Avenue.
